A firm believer in the steadfastly geographical maxim that travel broadens the mind, Nick has visited more than ninety countries, on a variety of missions. These foreign sorties provide him with material for his travel writing. He is the author of seven travelogues, most on the world’s more out-of-the-way places, and numerous articles in newspapers and magazines. Among his accolades, he is a winner of the Royal Geographical Society's Ness Award in recognition of widening the public enthusiasm for geography through his travel writing.
